To address this problem, some have proposed storing data in data structures that persist when a transaction associated with that data has been processed. Thus, transactions are “transient” until they are processed, at which time the transactions may be stored in a persistent data structure.
The World Wide Web (“WWW”), which is a portion of the Internet, is essentially an indexed, hypertext-based information storage and retrieval service available on the Internet. In the WWW, information is stored on servers throughout the world. A user of the WWW may navigate to a page or document on the WWW by specifying a network address at which the page or document can be found.
